C.F. Martin & Co. has been creating the finest instruments in the world for 183 years. One of the world’s leading acoustic instrument makers, Martin guitars are hand-made by skilled craftsmen and women, who use a combination of new design and techniques, along with those introduced by the company founder. The company, founded in the U.S. has been continuously family owned and operated for six generations!

As a visitor on the factory floor, your guided tour will show you how the guitars come to life through the hands of the craftsperson. Explore the art of guitarmaking, from old world tools to their state-of-the-art facility. Follow a guitar from rough lumber to a finished product which requires more than 300 steps to complete! It’s an amazing process to witness, and even more amazing to have the opportunity to photograph!

Join us for a private photographic tour of the Martin Guitar Factory and witness first-hand the making of these beautifully crafted instruments. There are over 300 steps involved in completing just one Martin guitar, and you’ll be right there to make your own unique images of the process! The tour will last  60-90 minutes.

Prior to the start of the tour, you will be given instruction on appropriate settings for focusing, exposure, white balance, and dealing with tricky lighting situations.  You will also be given instruction for thoughtful and creative compositions. This Photo Trek will provide a great opportunity to learn to work in low light, hand-held shooting situations.

An information letter will be emailed to attendees upon registration that will outline details of the workshop and recommended gear.

After the tour, we will spend time in the museum photographing the collection of more than 200 rare, vintage instruments and collection of historic memorabilia.

In case of inclement weather, the tour will be rescheduled to Wednesday March 8, same time.
