Henry Mercer became a noted tile-maker, archeologist, antiquarian, artist and writer, as well as a leader in the turn-of-the-20th century Arts and Crafts movement. Mercer’s achievements serve as inspiration that a person can accomplish so much in one lifetime. His legacy includes architecture (Mercer Museum, Fonthill Castle, the Moravian Pottery & Tile Works), art, history, archeology, and anthropology. Today all three sites, located in Doylestown, PA are National Historic Landmarks. The Mercer Museum is a six-story concrete castle dating back to 1916, and houses Henry Mercer’s vast collection of early American everyday objects. There are more than 60 early American crafts and trades represented, including a wealth of woodworking, metalworking, textile, agricultural and transportation tools. It is an amazing collection that will overwhelm the visual senses and challenge the photographer’s eye to capture creative and compelling compositions.
The Mercer Museum is a great place to learn to photograph in low light without a tripod, and learn or practice HDR-High Dynamic Range Photography. This workshop is perfect for the beginner or advanced amateur. Instruction will be given throughout the workshop regarding exposure, composition, lens choice, and the creation of HDR images.
Workshop is limited to 8 participants. A minimum number is necessary to run this trek. Registration deadline is November 2nd
The Mercer Museum is located in Bucks County. 84 South Pine Street, Doylestown, PA 18901

Another FANTASTIC time with Val and her group. This place was absolutely amazing, with all the stuff and the challenge of photography in low light and no tripod. If you are on the fence about going on a trek, just do one. You will not be disappointed!
